Prof. Akshay Kumar Rathore

Prof. Akshay Kumar Rathore (IEEE Fellow) is a Professor (Engineering) at Singapore Institute of Technology, Singapore. He received his Master of Technology degree in electrical machines and drives from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, India, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in power electronics from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 2008. He received the Gold Medal for securing the highest academic standing in his Master’s degree among all electrical engineering specializations. He had two subsequent postdoctoral research appointments with the University of Wuppertal, Germany, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. From November 2010 to February 2016, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore. From March 2016-Dec 2021, he served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada where he was listed in the Provost Circle of Distinction in 2021.

Dr. Rathore is a recipient of the 2013 IEEE IAS Andrew W. Smith Outstanding Young Member Achievement Award, 2014 Isao Takahashi Power Electronics Award, 2017 IEEE IES David Irwin Early Career Award, 2020 IEEE IAS Outstanding Area Chair Award, 2020 IEEE Bimal Bose Award for Industrial Electronics Applications in Energy Systems and 2021 Nagamori Award. He published about 280 research papers in international journals and conferences, including 94 IEEE TRANSACTIONS.

His research is mainly focused on the current-fed converters and multilevel inverters. He is currently serving as the Awards Department Chair of the IEEE Industry Applications Society and AdCom Member-at-Large of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society.

Prof. Bijaya Ketan Panigrahi
IIT Delhi

Prof. Bijaya Ketan Panigrahi (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in power systems from Sambalpur University, Sambalpur, Odisha, India, in 2004. He was a Lecturer with the University College of Engineering, Burla, Sambalpur, India, for 12 years starting from June 1992 to March 2005. From 2005, he was working as a Faculty with the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Delhi, India, where he became a Professor in 2017. He is heading the Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology, IIT Delhi. His research interests include soft computing, signal processing, power quality, renewable energy systems, power system protection, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, cyber security of power systems, and IoT.,Dr. Panigrahi serves as an Associate Editor of IET Smart Grid, and one of the Editors of IETE Journal of Research.

Prof. Vinod Khadkikar

Prof. Vinod Khadkikar (S’06, M’09, SM’15) received the M. Tech. in power electronics, electrical machines and drives from the Indian Institute of Technology (IITD), New Delhi, India, in 2002 and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the École de Technologie Supérieure, Montréal, QC, Canada, in 2008. From December 2008 to March 2010, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Western Ontario, London, ON, Canada. In 2010, he was a Visiting Faculty at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. His research interests include applications of power electronics in distribution systems and renewable energy resources, grid interconnection issues, power quality enhancement, active power filters and electric vehicles.

He was ranked 172 among 87,611 researchers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the list of world’s top 2% of career-long scientists as of December 2019 released by Stanford University.He has been serving as Scientist Member in the Mohammed bin Rashid Academy of Scientists (MBRAS) since 2018. At Khalifa University, he has been Power Electronics Theme Lead at the Advanced Power and Energy Center (APEC), and Space Power and Energy Storage Theme Lead at the Khalifa University Space Technology and Innovation Centre (KUSTIC).

Dr. Khadkikar is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications and IET Power Electronics.

Josep M. Guerrero
Aalborg University, Denmark

Josep M. Guerrero (S’01-M’04-SM’08-FM’15) received the B.Sc. degree in telecommunications engineering, the M.Sc. degree in electronics engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in power electronics from the Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona, in 1997, 2000 and 2003, respectively. In 2022 he received the M.Sc. Degree in Psychobiology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Since 2011, he has been a Full Professor with AAU Energy, Aalborg University, Denmark, where he is responsible for the Microgrid Research Program. From 2019, he became a Villum Investigator by The Villum Fonden, which supports the Center for Research on Microgrids (CROM) at Aalborg University, being Prof. Guerrero the founder and Director of the same center (www.crom.et.aau.dk).

His research interests are oriented to different microgrid frameworks in applications like microgrid clusters, IoT-based and digital twins, cybersecurity, maritime microgrids for electrical ships, vessels, ferries and seaports, space microgrids applied to nanosatellites and closed bioecological systems, and smart medical systems. Prof. Guerrero is an Associate Editor for a number of IEEE TRANSACTIONS. He has published more than 900 journal papers in the fields of microgrids and renewable energy systems, which are cited more than 90,000 times. During nine consecutive years, from 2014 to 2022, he was awarded by Clarivate Analytics (former Thomson Reuters) as Highly Cited Researcher. In 2021, he received the IEEE Bimal Bose Award for Industrial Electronics Applications in Energy Systems, for his pioneering contributions to renewable energy based microgrids. In 2022, he received the IEEE PES Douglas M. Staszesky Distribution Automation Award, for contributions to making the hierarchical control of microgrid systems a practical reality.

Prof Subhransu Ranjan Samantaray

Prof Subhransu Ranjan Samantaray received B. Tech from UCE Burla, PhD from NIT Rourkela and Post-Doctoral Studies from McGill University, Canada. Currently, he holds the position of Professor, OPTCL Chair Professor and Head of the School of School of Electrical Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, India. He has visited the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McGill University, Canada and Department of Automation and Electrical Engineering, AALTO University, Finland as Visiting Professor. He has more than 23 years of experience including Industry and Academia.

His major research interests include PMU and wide area measurement, intelligent protection for transmission systems including FACTs, Micro-grid protection including distributed generation, Micro-grid planning, Wide-area based dynamic security assessment in large power networks and Smart-Grid Technologies. With 127 peer reviewed international journals and 74 conference proceedings, his research appeared in top power engineering journals such as IEEE Transactions, IET Proceedings and Elsevier etc. The research outcomes have been cited more than 7037 with h-index of 46 (i-10 index-116).

His research credentials brought several recognitions including Top 2 % scientist by Stanford University survey (Rank: 737 in Energy globally), SERB STAR Award-2021, Director’s Commendation for Outstanding Research-2021, IEEE PES Chapter Outstanding Engineer Award-2020, NASI-SCOPUS Young Scientists Awards-2015, IEEE PES Technical Committee Prize Paper Award-2012, Samanta Chandra Sekhar Award, Odisha Bigyana Acadmey-2010, Young Engineers Award-IEI (Institute of Engineers, India) -2009, Innovative Doctoral Thesis Award-Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) -2008, Young Scientists Award, Odisha Bigyana Acadmey, Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of Odisha) -2007 etc.

Dr. Sanjeet Kumar Dwivedi
Fellow of IET (UK) and senior member of IEEE.

Dr. Sanjeet Kumar Dwivedi is a Fellow of IET (UK) and senior member of IEEE. He is working as senior research and development leader in Drive Intelligence Research group in Danfoss Global R&D, Europe Power Electronics Design Center, Graasten, Denmark since 2008. He worked earlier as research associate in power electronics, electrical machine and drives (PEEMD) research group of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (2002-2006) toward his doctoral research. He worked as head of the EE department and dean academic at Indira Gandhi Engineering College, Sagar, MP, India (2007-2008). Dr Sanjeet has awarded with two master degrees, first one from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India, Master of Engineering in Power Apparatus and Drives, and second one from South Denmark University Alsion Campus Sønderborg, M.Sc. Engineering in Innovation and Business. He has completed his Ph.D. degree in Motor Control from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi India. Dr. Sanjeet also completed his executive leadership education from MIT Boston. He was an adjunct professor at Curtin University, Perth, Australia (2016-18). Dr. Sanjeet has authored more than 40 technical papers and holds 11 international patents and three research books. He is a member of the editorial board of International Journal of Power Electronics (IJPE), associate editor of the Transaction of Industrial Electronics of the IEEE. Earlier he served as technical editor of ASME/IEEE Transaction of Mechatronics and IET (UK) journal on Power Electronics. He has given invited keynote talks, organized and .. chaired special sessions in several IEEE and European Power Electronics conferences. He is presently working as industry relation officer of IEEE Denmark Section. Dr. Sanjeet was awarded Gold Medal for his Master of Engineering degree at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (1999). He is a recipient of Merit Award from Institution of India IE(I) (2006) for his research publication on permanent magnet machines. He was also awarded with 9th Man on the Moon Global Innovation Award of Danfoss (2015) and IETE-Bimal Bose Award (2017) for outstanding contribution in power electronics and drive.

Dr. Anu A. Gokhale

Dr. Anu A. Gokhale is currently a Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Information Systems at Saint Augustine’s University. She visited Cairo University in Egypt in August 2022 as Fulbright Specialist in Data Analytics. Formerly, she was a Distinguished Professor and Coordinator of the Computer Systems Technology program at Illinois State University (ISU). Gokhale has completed thirty years as faculty and has received several College and University research, teaching and service awards. Having earned certifications in online delivery, she was recruited to mentor colleagues in online teaching beginning March 2020. Gokhale was named Fulbright Distinguished Chair in STEM+C at the University of Pernambuco, Brazil, 2016-17; was a Faculty Fellow in Israel and Fulbright Specialist in Cybersecurity at Gujarat Technological University, India in summer 2017. As a Visiting Professor in College of Business at Shandong University in Jinan, China in spring 2017, her focus was on e-commerce.

Her achievements encompass extensively cited refereed publications; groundbreaking externally funded research supported by a continuous 20-year stream of grants from state and federal agencies including the National Science Foundation; and elevation of the ISU student experience through excellence in teaching, mentorship, and the creation of opportunities for students to get involved in research. Originally from India, she has a master’s in physics‒electronics from the College of
William & Mary, and a doctorate from Iowa State University. Dr. Gokhale authored a second edition of her book Introduction to Telecommunications, which has an international edition in Chinese. She continues to be an invited keynote speaker at various conferences, latest ones include: 2022 International Conference on Information and Computer Technologies, Online; 2021 International Conference on Communication and Information Systems; Online; 2020 International Conference on Information System and Data Mining, San Jose, USA; and 2019 International Conference on Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Beijing, China. As an active volunteer in IEEE, she has served as R4 Educational Activities Chair, Women in Engineering Coordinator, and MGA representative to the Educational Activities Board. She was honored with the IEEE Third Millennium Medal and 2019 Region 4 Outstanding Professional Award. She consults for business and industry to increase productivity using data analytics and business intelligence while leveraging e-technologies. She has delivered multiple workshops focusing on hybrid teaching & learning, inclusion & diversity, as well as on algorithms and data analytics.
